Community and Partnerships Lead

Job Description

We are looking for an expert in partnerships and community to lead CambriCommunity.

CambriLearn is an accredited online private school for students aged 4 to 19 that has been teaching for almost two decades, with more than 80,000 students in over 100 countries across six accredited pathways. The Community and Partnerships Lead will run CambriCommunity, the school's student community programme, which covers an online community for enrolled students, an events programme run online and in person, and a network of partner organisations that host activities for CambriLearn families. The role is end-to-end in that the candidate will recruit the partners, manage them after signing, deliver the events programme and report on how it performs.

Education: Any tertiary education degree

Experience:

  • At least 6 years' experience in partnerships, community, membership or programme management
  • Experience recruiting partners from cold, covering prospecting, pitching, negotiating and closing
  • Experience growing revenue or reach through existing partners (co-marketing, cross-promotion etc
  • Experience managing partners or accounts against agreed targets
  • Experience planning and delivering in-person events, with responsibility for attendance and budget
  • Experience of a member, student, alumni, loyalty or customer community where engagement was measured
  • Experience managing a team and a budget, and reporting to senior management
  • Experience in education is advantageous
  • Experience in youth or family-facing sectors is advantageous
  • Experience working with a CRM and with community software is advantageous
  • Experience in international markets is advantageous

Key Skills & Critical Knowledge:

  • Partner recruitment, negotiation, account management and growth (co-marketing, cross-promotion and expanding what existing partners deliver)
  • Commercial and business acumen
  • Event planning and delivery, including budgets, suppliers and venues
  • Community engagement and programme design
  • Reporting and analysis, including cost per outcome, cohort comparison, and formal quarterly partner retrospectives with renewal/exit decisions.
  • People management
  • Presentation and excellent written and verbal communication
  • Relationship building and maintenance
  • Working knowledge of safeguarding in a school environment
  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends, and to travel to events and partner organisations

Key Accountabilities:

  • This role will be accountable for the performance of CambriCommunity. The role entails:
  • Recruiting partner organisations. The candidate will need to identify organisations that suit our families, make the approach, negotiate the terms and close the agreement.
  • Managing partners after signing, against agreed deliverables, including a quarterly review of every partner (assessing value delivered, engagement outcomes, and whether to continue, renegotiate or exit each relationship).
  • Growing the value of existing partnerships beyond the original agreement (identifying co-marketing opportunities, cross-promotion and ways partners can drive more engagement)
  • Planning and delivering the events programme, online and in person, including budgets, suppliers, venues and safeguarding requirements. The role is accountable for attendance and cost.
  • Managing the online community for enrolled students, including its clubs and groups, and working with the school on access, age-appropriate settings and moderation.
  • Defining how the programme is measured, producing regular reporting and presenting it to the management team.
  • The candidate will manage a small team and will report to the Head of Marketing.
  • Working with colleagues in admissions, marketing and the academic team as the programme requires.
