CambriLearn supports families through the examination process for every curriculum pathway. Where and how your child writes examinations depends on the curriculum and grade level. This page lists exam centres by curriculum, and our team is available to help with centre selection and registration.
How examinations work at CambriLearnThe examination centre arrangement depends on which curriculum your child follows. Not every student needs to find an external centre.
Grades R to 9: examinations at home. Grades 10 and 11: online proctoring at home. Grade 12 finals only: external centre assigned by SACAI or IEB. CambriLearn facilitates all registration. No centre directory needed for most students.
CambriLearn is an accredited Pearson Edexcel centre and handles exam coordination. No practicals required. Centres listed below for students outside CambriLearn's direct coordination.
Students register at approved centres as private candidates. CambriLearn's Exam Officers assist with centre identification and subject codes. Centres listed below by region.
Most CAPS, KABV, and IEB students do not need to find an examination centre. CambriLearn manages the examination process at every phase.
For Grade 12 final examinations, CambriLearn registers the candidate with SACAI or IEB. The examining body assigns an examination centre near the student's residential area. Guardians are given a choice of three centre options. CambriLearn does not influence centre assignments, but the team manages the registration, documentation, and fee submission on the family's behalf.
Grade 12 mid-year examinations and preliminary examinations are written at home using the proctoring system. Only the October/November final examinations require attendance at an external centre.
Important: CAPS and IEB Grade 12 final examinations can only be written at approved centres within South Africa. International students will need to be in South Africa during the October/November examination period. Read the full examination guide
CambriLearn is a Pearson Edexcel-accredited centre. Examination coordination is handled institutionally for enrolled students. The centres below are available for students who need to make independent arrangements or who are located outside CambriLearn's direct coordination.
Students following the International British curriculum sit International GCSE, AS Level, and A Level examinations at independently registered centres as private candidates. CambriLearn's Exam Officers assist with centre identification and registration guidance. Contact hello@cambrilearn.com for assistance.
Registration timeline: Contact centres four to five months before the examination window. For November examinations, reach out from June. For May examinations, reach out from January. Centres may have limited space for private candidates, so early contact is recommended.
At AS Level, practical examinations are compulsory for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics under the International British curriculum. Students must register at a centre that facilitates practical examinations. Contact centres well ahead of time to arrange practice sessions and register for the practical component.
No practicals required for Pearson Edexcel. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and A Level sciences are assessed entirely through written examinations with no practical component at any level. CambriLearn is an accredited Pearson Edexcel centre. Learn more
