CambriCommand, the parent view at CambriLearn, now works inside Claude, the AI assistant made by Anthropic. Connect your CambriLearn parent account once, and you can ask about your child’s schoolwork in your own words: the live lessons they attended, the homework that’s due, how their marks are moving and whether a report card is ready.
It’s live now and free for CambriLearn parents and guardians. Claude reads CambriLearn’s records at the moment you ask, so the answer matches what you’d see if you logged in yourself. ChatGPT support is coming soon.
CambriLearn families live in more than 100 countries and check in at all hours. A question you’d have saved for a login or an email can now go into the assistant you have open.
What an answer looks like
Here’s the kind of exchange a parent can have, with a made-up learner.
You ask: “Give me a summary of Zara’s week.”
Claude answers, from CambriLearn’s records: Zara attended her live lessons this week apart from Thursday’s Physics lesson, which shows as missed. Her English essay came back at 74%, with a note from her teacher to tighten the conclusion. A Maths worksheet on simultaneous equations is due on Friday, and she is 62% of the way through her Biology course.
Every fact in that answer comes from CambriLearn at the moment you ask. If something looks off, check it in CambriLearn, where the original records sit.
Questions worth asking
A few moments come round every term, and each has its own good questions. Type them as you’d say them.
On a Sunday evening
- “Give me a summary of Zara’s week.”
- “What’s due in the next seven days?”
When results come back
- “Show me last month’s marks and what the teachers said.”
- “Which subject has Amira improved in most this term?”
When lessons get missed
- “Which live lessons did Liam miss this month?”
- “What work is overdue, and which subject is it for?”
Before exams
- “What’s left in the Maths course?”
- “Make Amira a two-week study plan that fits around her live lessons.”
At report time
- “Is Thabo’s report card ready, or is it waiting on outstanding work?”
- “When is my next payment, and is anything overdue?” This one works only if you chose to share fee details.
Some assistants show ready-made CambriLearn prompts, including a weekly check-in and an exam preparation plan.
How to connect CambriCommand to Claude
You can set it up on claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app. Before you start, check you have:
- a CambriLearn parent or guardian account, since student accounts can’t connect an assistant
- your children linked to your parent account under Profile > Linked Accounts
- access to the email address on your CambriLearn account, for a one-time code
- a Claude account, where the free plan allows one custom connector
Then:
- On claude.ai, open Customize > Connectors.
- Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it CambriLearn, paste https://campus.cambrilearn.com/mcp as the URL and click Continue.
- Leave the sign-in settings as they are, click Add, then Connect.
- Log in to CambriLearn with your parent account, enter the one-time code from your email and click Allow.
- Start a new chat, click + then Connectors, check CambriLearn is switched on, and ask your question.
Claude’s menu names change from time to time. If a screen looks different, Anthropic’s guide to custom connectors has the current steps.
What stays private, and what Claude can’t do
You decide whether to connect, and nothing is shared until you sign in to CambriLearn and click Allow. Claude never sees your password, and it only sees the children linked to your account. You can switch it off at any time under Profile > Connected apps.
The connection is read-only. Claude can’t:
- submit work or change anything in your account
- make payments or see card numbers
- message teachers or CambriLearn staff
- download report cards or other files, which you open in CambriLearn
CambriLearn records when Claude used the connection and what type of information it read, and deletes those records after 12 months. It doesn’t store your questions or Claude’s answers. What Claude reads becomes part of your conversation, which Anthropic holds under its own privacy terms, so connect only an assistant you trust with your child’s school information. The full detail is in the AI assistant section of the CambriLearn privacy policy.
A lesson marked “not recorded” means no attendance was taken, so CambriLearn can’t say either way. CambriLearn’s rules on AI in assignments apply as before: Claude can help you plan study time, and the work your child submits has to be their own.
Questions parents ask
Is it free?
Yes. CambriLearn doesn’t charge for it. Your Claude plan applies, and Claude’s free plan allows one custom connector.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Not yet. ChatGPT support is coming soon. Today it works with Claude on the web and in the desktop app.
Can my child use it?
Not at the moment. It’s for parent and guardian accounts only.
Do I have to reconnect every day?
No. The connection renews in the background and stays on until you disconnect it.
How do I disconnect?
Log in to CambriLearn, go to Profile > Connected apps and click Disconnect. Claude loses access the moment you confirm.
What if Claude gets something wrong?
Check it in CambriLearn, where the original records sit. Claude summarises what it reads and can make mistakes, like any AI tool.
