In this course, students will acquire knowledge and develop skills regarding the societal impacts of technology. They will learn to recognise the potential of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and how it can enhance various aspects of life, including at home, in the work environment, and on a global scale.
By engaging in both practical and theoretical studies, students will apply their skills in problem-solving by utilising commonly used software like word processors and interactive presentation tools.
Learners will assess, create, execute, examine, and evaluate ICT systems, ensuring their suitability for the intended purpose. Special attention is given to nurturing lifelong skills that are vital across different subjects in the curriculum as well as for their future professional endeavours.
This course will establish a fundamental base for future academic pursuits, including Cambridge International AS and A Level Information and Communication Technology (or its equivalent).
Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared to write their International GCSE Information and Communication Technology exam at an accredited Cambridge exam centre.
