Frequently Asked Questions

Standard and Premium both provide course content, progress tracking and teacher-marked assessments appropriate to the selected course. Live lessons are available for selected subjects at CambriLearn's discretion, rather than for every subject.

Premium adds weekly live Q&A group sessions and direct teacher chat from the student dashboard. Chat operates Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 CAT (UTC+2), subject to teacher availability. CambriLearn aims to respond within 12 hours. Live session and chat access can vary by geographic region.

Assessment inclusions depend on the curriculum and level. For example, teacher-marked mock exams at British International GCSE, AS and A Level are a Premium feature; Standard includes the relevant internal examinations at British Primary and Foundation levels.

You can choose different support packages for different subjects where those options are available. Compare the current fees and package details and course introductions before selecting a package.

International GCSE, AS and A Level

Arrange external examinations directly with a centre approved for the relevant examining body, Cambridge Assessment International Education or Pearson Edexcel, that accepts private candidates. Students and parents are responsible for booking and paying for the examinations; these fees are separate from tuition.

Contact the centre at least three months before the intended examination, and earlier if its entry deadlines require it. Confirm the subjects, examination series, availability and fees with the centre. Some subjects are only available once a year, so do not assume every subject can be taken in every series.

CAPS Grade 12

CambriLearn registers Grade 12 learners with SACAI, which allocates an approved examination venue. Final CAPS Grade 12 examinations take place in South Africa. Students based internationally need to travel to South Africa on a study permit, as specified in the terms.

Final CAPS Grade 12 examination fees are separate from tuition and payable upfront at registration. For other South African pathways, confirm the assessment body, venue and registration requirements with CambriLearn for your chosen programme.

The final subject choice rests with the student and parent or guardian. Confirm the subject, grade and qualification requirements for your intended university, degree or other next step before enrolling; a consultation does not guarantee eligibility or admission.

Cambridge qualifications can be used for university entry in South Africa when the required subjects, grades and examination-sitting conditions are met. An AS Level result on its own should not be treated as an automatic equivalent to a complete matric qualification or as guaranteed university admission.

Check the Cambridge guide to university recognition in South Africa, the current Universities South Africa exemption requirements and the requirements of the university and degree you are considering. Students and parents are responsible for confirming eligibility.

For CambriLearn's South African pathways, students who meet the relevant SACAI or IEB Grade 12 requirements receive a National Senior Certificate issued by Umalusi.

Yes. CambriLearn's teachers are qualified educators with experience teaching their subjects and the relevant syllabuses. They support students across our international school community.

CambriLearn supports students and parents through course materials, teaching and progress tracking, with the level of support determined by the chosen curriculum, grade and package.

Standard and Premium

Both include course content, tracked progress and teacher-marked assessments appropriate to the course. Live lessons are available for selected subjects at CambriLearn's discretion; they are not offered for every subject. Content and support remain subject to the subscription period.

Additional Premium support

• Weekly live Q&A group sessions with teachers.
• Direct teacher chat, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 CAT (UTC+2), subject to teacher availability. The aim is to respond within 12 hours, without a guaranteed response time.
• Package-specific assessment support. For British International GCSE, AS and A Level courses, teacher-marked mock exams are a Premium feature; inclusions at other levels differ.

Session and chat availability may vary by geographic region. Check the current fees and package details and your course introduction for the exact inclusions.

Our Customer Support team helps with platform navigation, technical issues and general student queries. Linked parent accounts and academic progress monitoring help families identify areas where a student may need more support.

Discuss any required learning accommodations or assessment concessions with an education consultant before the assessment so that the necessary approval can be arranged.

General subscriptions: Standard and Premium subscriptions normally provide 12 months of access from course activation, after which access is deactivated. A Premium student can request a further six months of learning-content access free of charge, without teacher support, by emailing accounts@cambrilearn.com.

CAPS, KABV and IEB: these deadline-driven curricula have fixed expiry dates regardless of when the student enrols:

• FET courses expire on 31 December of the enrolment year.
• Grade 9 courses expire on 16 January of the following year.
• All other courses in these curricula expire on 31 March of the following year.

Payment does not automatically activate a new subscription. Follow the activation process and check any fixed course start date. See sections 2 and 3 of the terms and conditions for the full conditions.

To request cancellation, email accounts@cambrilearn.com. The amount due or refundable depends on your curriculum, subscription dates, work completed, payment method and any promotional terms. Subject changes follow the cancellation policy too.

British curriculum and other general subscriptions

• Within five days of subscribing: tuition is refunded less the applicable transaction fee. EFT has no transaction fee; bank-card payments carry a 5% transaction fee.
• After five days and up to four months: you are charged for the subscribed months, rounded up to the next full month or instalment. The cancellation fee is 10% of the refund value for monthly instalment payments, or 5% of the refund value for upfront payments.
• After four months, or once more than 40% of assignments and tests are complete: the full course fee is payable and no refund is due.

CAPS, KABV and IEB

Cancellation is based on term coursework. The allocation is two instalments for Term 1, three for Term 2, two for Term 3 and three for Term 4. You remain liable for coursework accessed in the relevant terms, and outstanding fees for completed terms must be settled before cancellation.

• For card instalment payments, once completed terms are paid for, cancellation stops further billing and does not generate a refund.
• For subscriptions paid fully upfront, unused terms are refundable less a 5% administration fee.

Registration fees and completed registrations with external educational bodies are non-refundable. Promotional purchases have separate conditions, including a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of the first instalment or 10% of the upfront payment, as applicable.

Refunds may take up to 21 working days. Under the general policy, refunds normally use the original payment method; cryptocurrency refunds use EFT. EFT refunds are paid in ZAR and require a valid PDF bank confirmation.

This is a summary of sections 3 and 5 of the terms and conditions, which govern your cancellation. CambriLearn may also cancel access for non-payment or a breach of the terms.

3. Close and reopen your browser or try using a different browser.

Our platform performs best using Google Chrome.

You can pay using a Mastercard or Visa bank card, Instant EFT through PayFast, EFT/bank transfer, or cryptocurrency, as offered at checkout.

• Bank card: pay upfront or spread the course fee over 10 consecutive monthly instalments, at an additional charge.
• EFT/bank transfer or cryptocurrency: full upfront payment is required. Access cannot begin until the full funds have been received; proof of payment alone is not sufficient. Part-payments by EFT are refunded with an administration fee.

The instalment option pays for the full course and is not a month-to-month subscription. Completing the work early does not cancel the remaining payments. For CAPS, KABV and IEB enrolments after Term 1, the instalments are based on the subscribed term coursework and may continue into the next year.

Prices are in USD and/or ZAR according to the curriculum. Your bank handles any required currency conversion at the time of payment and may charge additional fees.

New subscriptions use delayed activation. Payment alone does not activate the courses. For monthly payments, choose a preferred billing date at activation; the second instalment is charged in the following billing cycle. For a fixed-start course, billing resumes 30 days after the start date. You can update the billing date in the Billing tab.

Course prices are charged in US dollars or South African rand, depending on the curriculum. The platform shows the billing currency. Quotes cannot be issued in currencies other than those specified on the platform.

If your bank card uses a different currency, your bank handles the conversion at the time of payment and may charge conversion fees. Any converted amounts shown for guidance are indicative; the final amount depends on the bank's rate and charges.

For EFT or bank transfer, follow the currency and payment instructions on your quote. Contact accounts@cambrilearn.com if you need help before transferring funds.

Allow for these costs in addition to tuition:

• Registration: all new enrolments carry a per-student registration fee, payable upfront with the first purchase. It is non-refundable, non-transferable and not discountable. See registration fees by curriculum and the current fees and package details for the applicable amount.
• Textbooks: required books are purchased separately. Check the textbook list for your courses.
• External examinations: International GCSE, AS and A Level examination-centre fees are separate and paid directly to the chosen centre. Grade 12 registration and examination fees for the relevant South African assessment body are also separate; confirm the amount and payment requirements at enrolment.
• US K-12 technology fee: the current fee schedule includes an annual USD 125 technology fee.
• Optional assessments: grade or subject-choice assessments may carry a separate fee.

Internal examination fees are included for Standard and Premium packages at British Primary and Foundation levels, CAPS Grades R to 11 and KABV Grades R to 7, as described in section 9 of the terms and conditions. Check the course introduction and your selected package for the current inclusions.

Bank-card instalment plans carry an additional charge, and your bank may charge currency conversion fees when applicable.

British curriculum

You can organise your coursework around your family's schedule within the subscription period. Start dates may be flexible, but live lesson timetables, external examination dates and course requirements still need to be planned for.

General subscriptions provide 12 months of access from activation. Premium students can request an additional six months of learning-content access, without teacher support, by emailing accounts@cambrilearn.com. Do not assume that all subscriptions or support can be extended.

If you start during the year, the live lesson topic may differ from the coursework you are currently studying. Available recordings can support revision and catching up; lessons may be recorded, but a complete recording library for every topic is not guaranteed.

For International GCSE, AS and A Level, check the examination series, subjects, entry deadlines and fees directly with your chosen private-candidate exam centre. Contact the centre at least three months ahead, or earlier where its deadlines require it, and allow time for revision.

CAPS, KABV and IEB

These pathways are deadline-driven and have fixed subscription expiry dates regardless of enrolment date. You can organise day-to-day study around your family, but coursework and assessments must meet the applicable term requirements. CAPS and KABV follow South African government school terms, and CAPS FET test and examination dates in Grades 10 to 12 are fixed.

• Step 1: There is a calendar at the top of the student dashboard, scheduled live lessons will be listed underneath it. Please scroll through them and click on the lesson you would like to attend. The lesson details will then appear in the blue block on the right-hand side, click on the 'Attending' button for that lesson.

• Step 2: Just before the lesson is due to start, the button will change to green and 'Attending' will change to 'Join Now'.

• Step 3: Click on 'Join Now', the lesson window will open automatically for you.

NOTE:

Live lessons are available for selected maths, science and English subjects on Standard and Premium packages. They are provided at CambriLearn's discretion, and availability can vary by geographic region. Live lesson times use South African Standard Time (SAST), UTC+2. Families joining from another country should check the equivalent local time. If you experience timing or attendance issues, follow the platform guidance to align your device with this time zone.

Zoom is required for this functionality to work. Please ensure that it is downloaded to your device ahead of time (you will only have to download Zoom once).

CambriLearn is an international online school accredited by Cognia. It is also an approved Pearson Edexcel examination centre and is registered with SACAI and the IEB for the relevant South African pathways.

Students taking Cambridge Assessment International Education or Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and AS/A Level examinations receive their results from the relevant examining body. Students who meet the SACAI or IEB Grade 12 requirements receive a National Senior Certificate issued by Umalusi.

CambriLearn's US K-12 courses are NCAA approved. Admission to a university, or eligibility for college sport, depends on the student meeting the applicable requirements.

You can change your details from your profile. Please follow the steps below:

• Step 1: Log in to the profile.
  ‍
• Step 2: Click on the three horizontal lines in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
  ‍
• Step 3: Select "My Profile" on the drop-down screen.
  ‍
• Step 4: You can then make any changes needed.

A dedicated study space and basic stationery to complete assignments, make notes and study. 

From a technology perspective, we recommend an uncapped internet connection. Our learning platform can be accessed from laptops and tablets alike. Mobile phones can be used to access information/videos but are less versatile for daily learning.

A printer is convenient, however, print shops can be utilised as an alternative. Access to a scanner or mobile scanning app is required.

Finally, you'll also need to purchase textbooks (where applicable) which are used to supplement the course content.

We consider additional learning needs individually. CambriLearn does not provide a specialist special-needs teaching service, so discuss your child's needs with an education consultant before enrolling to assess whether the curriculum and support package are suitable.

Some students benefit from being able to revisit learning material and organise their study time. Flexibility depends on the curriculum: subscription expiry dates, assessment deadlines and external examination requirements still apply. Required subject combinations also depend on the chosen pathway and future study plans.

For students aged 12 and up, we've created CambriCommunity, our new student hub that functions as a real-time chat channel where students can discuss schoolwork, movies, books, and sports as well as share art and music.

CambriCommunity is moderated 24/7 and can be accessed directly from your student dashboard.

Every student requires their own profile. A guardian/tutor profile can be linked to multiple students. Students under 18 need parent or legal guardian consent.

If you already have a profile, you can skip ahead to Step 5.

Guardian profile:

• Step 1: go to cambrilearn.com, accept all cookies and click on 'enrol'.
• Step 2: Select whether you are a parent/guardian, a student, or a tutor centre manager. For this example, we’re going to create a parent/guardian profile. Fill in the form as prompted. If you have an eligible tutor referral code, enter it as directed; the applicable discount terms will apply.
• Step 3: Once you have created a profile, you will receive an email asking you to activate your profile. Remember to check your Spam folder if you haven’t received it.
• Step 4: Before you can continue, you will need to watch a short introduction video that explains how CambriLearn works. After you have watched the video, click on the 'Student Tracker' tab at the top of the screen.

Student profile:

• Step 5: Select 'Create a new profile' and fill in the student account details, please use an active email address different to any other registered student's (a profile picture is completely optional).
  ‍
• Step 6: Before you can continue, please activate the student’s profile from the email sent to the email address used in the step above.
  ‍
• Step 7: Create a password for the student profile. The student will also need to watch the video before you can proceed.

Once you have watched the video, select "Let's Start Learning".

Selecting subjects:

• Step 8: You can now add subjects to the cart from the 'Fees' tab which you will find in the menu bar. Click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines in the top right corner) and scroll to 'Fees'. On this page, select the available curriculum, package and grade appropriate to the student. Subject and package availability depends on the curriculum and level. To add subjects to the cart, simply click on the 'add to cart' button.
  ‍
• Step 9: Once you’re ready, you can click on the shopping cart icon. Check the list and make any required changes. You can remove a subject by clicking the 'x' next to it. To add a subject, click on the 'x' in the top right corner of the cart window to close it, add the relevant subject and click in the shopping cart again to continue.

Payment:

• Step 10: Once you are happy with the loaded subjects, click on 'proceed to checkout' and select your preferred payment method.
  Note that the only option for the 10-month payment plan is a card payment.
• Step 11: You now have a full view of the cart showing subjects, package, payment method and any discounts that may be available. You can toggle between the monthly and upfront payment plans here. To make any other changes you can click on the 'back' arrow.
• Step 12: Once you are happy with the cart contents, accept the Term and conditions and select 'proceed'. If you would like to pay by credit card, you will need the card details at this point. If you are paying by eft (upfront only), an eft invoice will be emailed to you. Please make payment against that. (This invoice is valid for 10 days.) Note that EFT payments may take up to 2 days to process.

Payment must be received before access can begin. New subscriptions use delayed activation, so payment does not automatically activate them. Follow the activation instructions when ready, subject to the course start date.

Textbooks are not included and are to be purchased separately. CambriLearn does not sell textbooks.

Premium Package: 

You have access to message your teacher directly via an online message feature. 

To access this feature, click on the green 'Speak to a Teacher' button in the bottom right corner of the screen. All your subject teachers will appear in the pop-up window. You can message them directly with any questions you may have regarding coursework by clicking on their message/name.

Only teachers for subjects on your Premium package will be listed. Teacher chat is available Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 Central African Time (CAT, UTC+2), subject to teacher availability. CambriLearn aims to respond within 12 hours; this is not a guaranteed response time. Access can vary by geographic region.

Standard Students:

Students who are on the Standard Package can click the "Help" button in the right-hand corner of their screen. The question will be sent to the relevant teacher who will assist via email.

- The scheduled Live Lessons / Q&As are listed below the calendar on the student dashboard. 

- Click on the lesson that you would like to attend, and the details will appear in the blue section on the right.

- Click on the 'Attending' button. 

- Just before the lesson is due to start, the button will become green and will say 'Join Now'. 

- The lesson / link will then open for you

Be sure that you have Zoom downloaded onto the device that you are using. This functionality will not work otherwise. 

Lesson times use South African Standard Time (SAST), which is UTC+2. If you are joining from another country, check the equivalent local time. The platform guidance is to align your device with the lesson time zone if you encounter attendance or timing issues.

Zoom is required for all Live Lessons and Q&As and must be downloaded to your device.

If you’re on another device, have a look in the Google Play Store or the iStore for the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app.

1. Go to https://zoom.us/download
   ‍Once you’re in the Download Center, download Zoom Client for Meetings. Click on the “Download” button.
   ‍
2. Follow the download instructions
   The download process varies from computer to computer. It may happen automatically in the background. If not, choose where you want to save the installation file and then click on save. Run the .exe file to install Zoom, giving permissions where necessary (this process will vary depending on your computer). Downloading and installation can take a few minutes.

Step 1: Navigate to the student dashboard for the relevant subject.

Step 2: Click on the Recorded Live Lesson tab at the top of the page.

Step 3: The recorded live lessons are organised by topic; you can search for a particular topic in the search bar near the top of the page and press 'enter' on your keyboard.

Related recorded lessons will also be listed under the 'This Week' section each week.

Always follow the assessment instructions and timetable for your curriculum and grade. CAPS FET assessments in Grades 10 to 12 have fixed, non-negotiable dates. The download and upload process below does not allow these dates or the writing time on the paper to be changed.

The learner is advised to only attempt a test if they have completed all the prior assignments and coursework.

Please refer to the Term Planner documents (found in the course introductions) for guidance on when tests and exams are due.

Note that the assignments and tests contribute towards the learner's final average marks and will reflect on the Report Card issued by Cambrilearn.

The tests are designed to mimic the exam conditions (Grade 4-9) and help the learner prepare for their final exams. The more practice they have under these exam conditions, the better.

Process:  

• Step 1: To initiate a test or exam, navigate to the student dashboard for the relevant subject. You will see a block on the right-hand side of your screen that will say Test/Mid-course Test/Exam/Progression Paper. Request the paper by clicking on the blue 'Get Started' button underneath the test name on the student dashboard.
  ‍
• Step 2: Follow the prompts to send the test to the designated invigilator, take note of the procedure and requirements on each page. There are 3 steps, click 'next' on each step to continue.
  ‍
• Step 3: The invigilator will receive an email containing a link where they will be able to download the test (The invigilator must be over 18, you cannot use another registered student's email address).
  ‍
• Step 4: From the email, click on the 'Go to invigilator dashboard' button. Follow the process of taking note of the expected exam conditions to be enforced during the test. Download and print the test.
  ‍
• Step 5: Carefully read the instructions on the front cover taking note of the instructions, stationery allowed and allocated time for the test. Please ensure that the student does not have access to the paper prior to sitting down to write the test. Ensure that the student completes the test on the assessment document provided, they may add exam paper pages if they need to, ensure these answers and pages are properly numbered and any rough work is labelled accordingly.

• Step 6: Once the paper is downloaded the test timer will begin. You will have 48 hours to submit the completed test for marking.
  ‍
• Step 7: The invigilator must scan the completed paper into a single .pdf document. Check that all the pages are clear to read, scanned in the correct order, the right way up and that all questions are included.
  ‍
• Step 8: The invigilator must access the same email and click on the 'Go to invigilator dashboard' button again, you will see that the portal has updated to allow for the upload. Select the file and click on 'submit'. The paper will now be available to the teacher for marking.

Prohibited Materials:

- No written materials of any kind are permitted e.g. the learner’s water bottle (if desired) should not have any labels on it.  

- No electronic devices such as cell phones or smart watches are permitted.  

- No calculator covers, or maths-set boxes are allowed. Stationery must be visible and/or in a clear see-through bag.

- No books or notes are allowed.

Test Environment:

- The question paper may only be opened when the allocated time begins.  

- There is no reading time unless otherwise indicated.

- The learner must be supervised for the full duration of the paper.  

- The venue should be quiet, no communication or music/tv is allowed during the paper

- A 5-minute warning should be given before the end of the allocated time.  

- The learner should be able to clearly see the time throughout the test.

- At the end of the allocated time, the student must stop writing and close the paper, even if they haven't finished.

Reporting Unusual Events:

- Please note that should any unusual events occur during the exams for example, a power outage or the student becoming ill, it must be reported on the cover page of the paper.

- If you have missed the deadline time to download or upload the exam papers, please contact hello@cambrilearn.com.

Students must complete assessments independently using only permitted resources. An invigilator supervises the assessment and must not help with answers. Follow the separate venue and registration arrangements for final Grade 12 external examinations.

Students are advised to only attempt a test if they have completed all the prior assignments and coursework.

Note that Progression Tests/Exams are the end of course exams and will only be accepted for marking once all other assignments and tests have been completed. 

Note that the assignments, mid-course tests and progression tests/exams contribute towards the learner's final average marks and will reflect on the Report Card issued by Cambrilearn.

- The question paper may only be opened when the allocated time begins.  

- There is no reading time unless otherwise indicated.

- The learner must be supervised for the full duration of the paper.  

- The venue should be quiet, no communication or music/tv is allowed during the paper

- A 5-minute warning should be given before the end of the allocated time.  

- The learner should be able to clearly see the time throughout the test.

- At the end of the allocated time, the student must stop writing and close the paper, even if they haven’t finished.

Reporting Unusual Events:

- Please note that should any unusual events occur during the exams for example, a power outage or the student becoming ill, it must be reported on the cover page of the paper.

- If you have missed the deadline time to download or upload the exam papers, please contact hello@cambrilearn.com.

The 48-hour upload window does not extend the writing time stated on the paper. Students must work independently, within the permitted time and using only authorised resources. Invigilators supervise the assessment and must not help with answers.

International British Curriculum:

Report cards can only be generated if the student has completed all formal assessments. If a student has not completed all formal assessments, you will not be able to get a report card.

Please follow these steps to request a report card:

Step 1: Log in to the guardian profile and click on the relevant student's name.

Step 2: If all assessments have been completed and marked for all the courses of the applicable level, click on the 'Request Report Card' button in the top right corner.

Step 3: Select all the courses for that level and click on the 'Submit' button.

The report card will be sent by email as soon as it has been approved. Please note, the guardian profile needs to be linked to the student profile if you would like to request the report card.

CAPS Curriculum:

- CAPS Report cards are automatically generated once all the Term's assessments have been completed and marked.

- Please note that report cards will only be generated once the learner has completed all formal assessments for that Term.

It is advised that students submit one assessment for marking at a time per subject. This is to ensure that students are working through the coursework and assessments in a systematic way, building on their knowledge as they progress. It also means that students get maximum benefit from their teacher's comments and corrections on marked papers and can learn from their mistakes before moving on. This is recommended. 

When students submit multiple papers for marking at once, this is considered a 'bulk submission'. This is discouraging as it puts the student at a disadvantage and extends marking times. The aim of assessments is to gauge student progress and to test understanding and knowledge. By rushing through assessments and not waiting for feedback in between, students do not have the opportunity to learn from previous errors and correct them, thereby improving their understanding and academic performance. Students are encouraged to take their time and to complete each assessment to the best of their ability.

Marking typically takes 8 working days from upload. This is an estimate and may vary with submission volumes. Teachers may mark work sooner when they have capacity. When you submit assessments in bulk, each assessment submission date will be staggered by 2 days each. This means that the overall marking time will be extended. 

Therefore, there is little advantage to submitting assessments in bulk.

As per our Terms and Conditions, marking of assessments usually takes place within 8 working days from the date on which the completed assessments are uploaded. However, this period is an estimate only and is dependent on multiple factors including the volume of assessments submitted.

The CambriLearn platform is compatible with laptop, desktop, and tablet devices, without the need for a separate app. 

Information/videos can be accessed on mobile phones though this option is less versatile for daily learning.

Each user profile may have up to three approved devices. Registering an unfamiliar device may require a one-time password sent to the profile's email address. Each student must use their own profile.

To reset your password: 

Step 1: go to cambrilearn.com, accept all cookies and click on 'log in'.

Step 2: Instead of trying to log in, click on ‘Reset my password’, enter your email address and press ‘submit’. 

Step 3: You will receive an email from hello@cambrilearn.com confirming the next steps. Remember to check your junk and spam folders if you haven’t heard from us.

Please note that your guardian profile must be created and verified before you can link to a student profile.

Step 1: Log in to the student profile.

Step 2: Click on the menu icon (the three horizontal lines in the top right corner).

Step 3: Scroll to 'Linked Accounts'.

Step 4: Enter the guardian profile email/username for the guardian profile that you would like to link.

Step 5: Click 'Send'.

Step 6: The guardian will receive a notification email; they are required to accept the link from there. Alternatively, they can go to 'Linked Accounts' from their profile and click on 'Accept'.

The two profiles will then be linked, and the guardian will have access to the Student Tracker.

If the subscriptions were purchased from the student profile

When the student is ready to start, please follow the steps below in order to activate the subscription:

1. Log in to the Student Dashboard
2. Click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines in the top right corner)
3. Click on 'Subscriptions'
4. Click on the 'Pending Subscriptions' tab
5. Your subjects would be listed with an 'Activate' button
6. Click on the 'Activate' button and it will activate the subject for you immediately.

If the subscriptions were purchased from the guardian profile

When the student is ready to start, please follow the steps below in order to activate the subscription:

1. Log in to your Guardian Profile
2. Select the Student Tracker tab on the top right hand corner, this will give an overview of all students linked to the guardian, click 'Activate Subscriptions' for the relevant student
3. Review and select the subjects you would like to activate
4. Click on the 'Activate' button and it will activate the subject for you immediately.

If you are paying in 10 instalments, you will have the option to update your billing date here as well.

Here are some important details to note:

• General subscriptions run for 12 months from activation. CAPS, KABV and IEB instead have fixed expiry dates, regardless of when the student enrols; see subscription validity.
• Some courses, like CAPS, have fixed start dates (e.g., Term 1 each year). In these cases, activation will take place on or after the specified date.
• For monthly payments, choose your preferred billing date at activation. The second instalment falls in the following billing cycle. For fixed-start courses, billing resumes 30 days after the course start date; you can update the billing date in the Billing tab.

A once-off registration fee applies per student to all new enrolments. It is paid upfront with the first purchase and is non-refundable, non-transferable and not discountable.

The current registration fees are:

• CAPS: ZAR 1,500
• KABV: ZAR 1,500
• IEB: ZAR 1,500
• International British: USD 95
• Pearson Edexcel: USD 95
• US K-12: USD 350

This school registration fee is separate from any applicable registration or examination fees charged for external assessment bodies.

IEB and SACAI are assessment and examination bodies for South African pathways that follow CAPS. Both routes lead to the National Senior Certificate issued by Umalusi when the relevant Grade 12 requirements are met.

Assessment tasks and examination papers can differ, so one route may suit a student better than another. It is not helpful to assume that one is universally harder or that either guarantees university admission.

An education consultant can explain the available pathway, subject choices and assessment requirements for your child's grade. Students and parents should also check the entry requirements of their chosen university or further study programme.

CAPS is South Africa's national Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement. The IEB is an assessment and examination body, rather than a separate national curriculum. The IEB pathway follows CAPS requirements with IEB assessment.

CambriLearn is registered with both SACAI and the IEB. Students who successfully complete the relevant Grade 12 requirements receive a National Senior Certificate issued by Umalusi.

The pathways can differ in their assessment tasks, examination papers and administration. Compare the requirements for the relevant grade and subjects with an education consultant. Neither pathway guarantees university admission; students must meet the subject, result and entry requirements of their chosen institution.

CambriLearn is an international online school, so families can continue the same programme while travelling, provided they can access the platform and meet their curriculum's attendance, assessment and examination requirements.

Courses do not automatically begin when payment is made. New subscriptions use delayed activation, and some courses have fixed start dates. General subscriptions provide 12 months of access, while CAPS, KABV and IEB have fixed expiry dates regardless of enrolment date.

Use a suitable device and reliable internet connection, and check the time zone for scheduled lessons. Live sessions and online chat may not be available in every geographic region.

External examinations need separate planning. International GCSE, AS and A Level students arrange examinations with an appropriate centre that accepts private candidates. Final CAPS Grade 12 examinations take place in South Africa, so students based elsewhere must plan the required travel.

Cognia accredits CambriLearn as an online school. International GCSE and AS/A Level results come from the relevant examining body; the South African National Senior Certificate is issued by Umalusi. Families remain responsible for checking recognition and entry requirements in their destination country and at their chosen university.

CambriCommunity helps students build friendships with other CambriLearn students through shared interests, conversations and activities, including when their family is travelling.

The online community is available to students aged 12 and over with an active subscription and parent or guardian consent. Students must be verified and accept the community rules before participating. The community is moderated 24/7.

Students can discuss schoolwork, hobbies, sport, books, art and music. In-person events and partner activities vary by location and schedule; check the CambriCommunity page for current opportunities.

Online friendships can provide continuity between destinations. Families should check internet access, local time zones and the availability of activities in each location.

Students can plan study around training and competition commitments, with the level of flexibility depending on their curriculum, package and assessment deadlines. Speak to an education consultant before enrolling to discuss a workable timetable.

Live lessons follow the published timetable and are available for selected subjects on Standard and Premium packages. They are provided at CambriLearn's discretion and may be recorded. Students can use available recordings to revisit topics or catch up after a missed session, but a recording of every lesson or topic is not guaranteed.

British curriculum students can organise their coursework within their subscription period while preparing for fixed external examination dates. CAPS, KABV and IEB follow term-based deadlines; CAPS FET test and examination dates are fixed. Training or travel does not change these requirements.

Plan for a suitable device, reliable internet and the lesson time zone. Access to live sessions and online chat can vary by geographic region. A linked parent account helps families monitor progress while balancing school and sport.

CambriLearn Online School gives parents direct access to a linked account that displays the full picture of a student's academic activity, so oversight does not depend on a child remembering to report back after a busy competition week.

The dashboard shows the student's current progress through course material, marked-assignment averages, a percentile indicator relative to peers, the number of assignments completed, lessons completed, and group sessions attended.

Parents can also view teacher profiles and monthly platform activity, giving context to whether engagement has dipped during a high-travel period.
