Social Sciences is made up of two subjects, Geography and History.
Although the two courses remain separate, CAPS is designed to complement the knowledge outlined in each course. The course is designed to encourage learners to ask compelling questions. The learners will be exposed to sound questions based on prior knowledge, perceptions, interests, insight, and concerns.
This course will help learners discover more about the world in the past and also the world of now. This includes the lessons to be learnt from people, places and nature. It further gives a better perspective of nature and maps. This Social Sciences curriculum aims to provide opportunities for learners to look at their own worlds with fresh, critical eyes, and perhaps more importantly, it aims to introduce learners to a world beyond their everyday realities.
