Elizabeth A. Ngare is a seasoned caregiver and educator for learners with multiple challenges, including visual impairment, mental impairment, autism, and emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD).
Elizabeth will share her experience as a principal in a school with autistic learners, focusing on eliminating stigma and demonstrating the success of homeschooling during the COVID-19 pandemic. She will discuss the critical role of involving parents in their children's education at home and how this approach can transform parents into co-educators.
Mikie Baron is an experienced Occupational Therapist with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
Mikie will talk about sensory integration, creating effective sensory diets, how to involve the whole family in developing S.M.A.R.T sensory environments, and communication strategies for homsechooled non-verbal children.
