What is the A Level curriculum?

The International British Curriculum's A Level is a comprehensive two-year programme culminating in a globally recognised examination typically undertaken around the age of 18. The journey is divided into two levels at CambriLearn: the first year is dedicated to AS Level courses, while the second year completes the A Level. Students can either sit AS Level examinations only or continue to the full two-year A Level qualification, depending on their academic goals.

Designed for students aged 16 to 19, the British Advanced Level builds the deeper knowledge and skills needed for university and higher education, and serves as a recognised stepping stone towards higher learning.

Students who plan to study at university are encouraged to confirm entrance requirements directly with the relevant university faculty offices ahead of making decisions on their AS Level subject choices. It is also important to confirm any specific university exemption requirements in addition to faculty entrance requirements.

CambriLearn offers Subject Choice Assessments by a qualified educational psychologist, at an additional fee, to help students choose the subjects that best suit their individual strengths.

Our A Level courses follow on from our AS Level courses, supporting students who wish to attain a full A Level qualification. The current A Level subjects offered for Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) examination are shown in the subject list on this page, covering the sciences, mathematics and English.

Course outlines

Each A Level course provides students with a detailed course outline and weekly schedule, guiding them through the coursework, tasks and exercises, alongside the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) syllabus document confirming the topics covered and how the material is assessed in the final examinations. All learning material is provided online on the student dashboard in an easy-to-follow lesson structure, supplemented where applicable by prescribed textbooks. Students also have access to teacher-led, live online lessons and a comprehensive library of recorded sessions, designed by professionally trained teachers and available whenever additional time is needed on a challenging topic or for exam revision.

Throughout the courses, students submit a series of assignments and tests to determine progress and gauge exam readiness. These are submitted to the student dashboard for grading by an experienced CambriLearn teacher on the Standard and Premium packages, with personalised feedback on graded papers guiding continual improvement.

Academic progress can be closely monitored through CambriLearn's Student Tracker, accessible to parents, guardians and tutors through their linked profiles, giving a clear, real-time overview of lesson progress, submissions and current grades so additional support can be activated where required.

Lesson and task scheduling is managed through the interactive dashboard calendar, which lets students, parents, guardians and tutors view upcoming tasks by day, week or month at a glance.

Common questions about A Level

Can you study A Levels online?

Yes. CambriLearn teaches A Levels fully online through live, timetabled lessons led by specialist subject teachers, with recorded sessions available for revision. Students write their final Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) examinations in person at an accredited exam centre.

How long does an online A Level take?

Two years. The first year covers AS Level and the second completes the full A Level. Students can write AS examinations at the end of year one or carry all examinations through to the end of the programme.

Which A Level subjects does CambriLearn offer?

CambriLearn offers seven A Level subjects: Biology, Business, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics (Pure Maths Paper 3), Mathematics (Statistics Paper 6) and Physics. Each follows the CAIE syllabus and includes live lessons with a specialist teacher.

Do universities accept online A Levels?

Universities treat CAIE A Levels the same whether a student studied online or in person, because the qualification and examinations are identical. CambriLearn encourages students to confirm faculty entrance requirements with their chosen universities before finalising AS subject choices.
